Dear TTE Families,
I hope that you and your family enjoyed the day off on Tuesday
and were able to take advantage of the beautiful Colorado weather. I
wanted to share what we did as a staff during the PLC day on Tuesday.
Our two main focuses were on finalizing grade level curriculum maps and
creating and revising backward plans in math and writing.
The curriculum maps layout the PBL units and backward plans that
grade levels will teach throughout the year. Each of these plans is
broken down into the four components of the Guaranteed and Viable
Curriculum (GVCs). These components are:
-World Class Outcomes (WCO)
-the 4Cs (critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity)
-21st Century Skills
-Colorado Academic Standards (specific to grade level and content)
One of the most important things we did was to take time to celebrate
all the wonderful things that are happening at Timber Trail. It was
very fulfilling and affirming to celebrate our students, community and
colleagues with each other.
As always, we could not do this without your help and support. Thank
you for helping us be the school "where hearts and minds connect".
Warmly,
Michele Radke
Principal

MILES 4 LIVES
Hello,
My name is Collette Haberland, and I attend Rock Canyon High School.
Over the summer, a group of RC students were able to attend a camp
called National Leadership Academy. Through this experience, we were
challenged to push ourselves to make a difference in the world.
Therefore, the idea of Miles 4 Lives came up. This is a 5k and fun run,
in order to gather the community together and to give back. The entry
fee is one pair of shoes (in good condition) to donate to the Denver
Rescue Mission. We will have food sponsors there as well to help support
this race. I have attached the flyer for additional information and
further details. The student and faculty of NLA were wondering if our
flyer could be placed in the parent newsletter or some type of
communication that goes out to the students and parents, at your school.
We do not want this to be focused on one school. We wanted to reach out
to all the surrounding schools to encourage more participation. As it
is our first year beginning this, we need all the support we can get
from the community and beyond. Anything to help communicate this event
would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please feel
free to contact me. Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you
there!
Thank you,
Collette Haberland
