Dear TTE Families, Happy New Year and welcome back. I hope you and family had a wonderful holiday break. We are excited to begin our second semester with our first ever TTE Showcase Event on Monday, January 9th. This will be an open house style event, and everyone is welcomed to drop by between 5:00-7:00 pm and stay for the length of time that works best for your family. The purpose of this evening is to give parents an opportunity to see first hand what their student(s) have been creating and learning during the first semester. There will be no formal presentations, instead each student will be sharing directly with their parent. In addition to the classrooms please plan on visiting the following teachers: -Ms. Smith in the library; write code to maneuver WeDo robots -Ms. Clemente in our new MakerSpace; participate in several challenges and see our 3D printer in action -Ms. Johnston in the Town Square; practice CPR skills on a resuscitation mannequin -Specials teachers will be in their rooms providing hands on activities 5th Grade Art Silent Auction: Our 5th graders have been working hard to learn about the devastation that resource-overuse and pollution have on our world. After collecting trash from home in order to prevent it ending up in a landfill, they created beautiful trash-to-treasure sculptures, inspired by their visit to the Washed Ashore exhibit at the Denver Zoo. You will have the opportunity to purchase one of these works of art with all proceeds going to the Washed Ashore organization. Click here for more information. We hope to see you Monday evening. Please note that students must be accompanied by a parent.
