Dear Timber Trail Elementary Families,

We hope this finds you having enjoyed a wonderful winter break with your family and loved ones! Last semester, our school worked to promote student wellness and achieve the goal of every student in Douglas County knowing when they need help and where to get help. This month students will review topics covered throughout the first semester. Students will review how to identify & communicate their feelings, how to help a friend in need, how & when to report and healthy habits.

Based on students’ developmental levels, teachers will explore this topic in the classroom with their students.

We encourage you to support our efforts by discussing these topics with your child. Topics may include: Discussing the concept of A.C.T. (Acknowledge, Care, Tell) when helping a friend in need and/or reviewing possible healthy habits they may employ. Your child’s safety is of the utmost importance, and Timber Trail Elementary will do all we can to support every student’s well-being. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Please consider the resources offered on the  PREVENTION and SCHOOL CULTURE website and determine if they may be appropriate for your family.

In Partnership,

Michele Radke, Principal

Nicole Goering, Licensed School Psychologist

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART and SUPPORT THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION!
"Everybody Jump, Jump..."  Just as the classic 90's song suggested, TTE will be getting up and Jumping Rope for Heart!  This is an annual event that our students will do to support the American Heart Association. Every student will be celebrating this wonderful event during their WOLF time over the next few weeks. Fundraising is voluntary, and all proceeds go to the American Heart Association to help in their fight against heart disease.  Students received a fundraising packet on Wednesday, January 13. The due date for packets is February 1st.  If anyone needs more information that cannot be answered by the information packets, please contact Nick Newman, PE teacher, atndnewman@dcsdk12.org
