Introduction Letter

Dear Parents and Sixth Graders,

I am so excited to welcome you to 6th grade. I will be your homeroom teacher this year.  The beginning of a new school year is full of promise, anticipation, and for some of you apprehension. I want to assure you that we will have a wonderful year together.  There will be so many interesting learning opportunities throughout the year beginning with our outdoor ed trip in August. We will be attending camp at Stone Canyon, the district's outdoor ed facility, Wednesday, August 15-August 17.  Please make sure to check out the Outdoor Education web page to receive additional information and fill out the required forms your student will need in order to attend.

It is extremely important that you come to school rested after your summer break but ready to learn. I love to have fun but also expect hard work. Mrs. Skolout, Ms. Roberts, and I collaborate, using each of our strengths, to give our students the best 21st Century education we can. It is our job to make sure students are ready to transition into middle school at the end of the sixth grade year.

Sand Creek will be hosting a school supply drop off on Tuesday, August 7th between 4:00-6:00 p.m. This is a time for students to bring in school supplies and for students and parents to meet teachers.  Back to School Night will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 6:00 p.m. The Sixth Grade Team is looking forward to meeting parents this night and we will be filling you in on our expectations, giving you a glimpse into your student’s day, and we’ll also be available to answer any question you may have about the school year. More information will be coming home regarding this event.

Again, I’m so excited to begin our journey together.
