Welcome Letter

July 10, 2017

Dear Third Grader,

Welcome to Third Grade!  I am looking forward to meeting you and your parents on Welcome/Supply Drop-Off Day, Tuesday, August 8th between 4:00-6:00 pm.  This will be a wonderful opportunity to visit the classroom, find your desk, put some of your supplies away and learn about some of our classroom procedures.  As a convenience, you are asked to bring your supplies to school on this day.  If you ordered an EPI kit, it will be in the classroom on your desk.  We will put labels on your colored pocket folders on the first day of school. We use the blue, green, yellow red and purple folders to keep work in.  The purple is used as a Homework Folder, red is Reading, blue is Math, yellow is Writing, and green is Social Studies and Science.  You will need to label your personal supplies, ruler, scissors, spiral notebook and composition book with your name. The other supplies do not need to be labeled, as we will share them throughout the school year.

I am so excited to meet you and welcome you to third grade.  Our first official day of school is Thursday, August 10th.  I like to consider third grade as a journey that we will go through together.  In third grade, we will learn many new things including cursive, multiplication and division, Native Americans, Matter, Rocks, Life Cycles and much more.  It will be a year full of new adventures.

We will have a snack time during morning recess, so please bring a snack with you to school.  Water bottles are also great to leave on your desk for when you are thirsty since there is no drinking fountain in the classroom.  Our lunchtime is at 12:10 pm.

Be sure to explore our classroom website for additional information!

Sincerely,

Ms. Boggs
