All About My Teacher

          Ms. Brost
Welcome to First Grade!  I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year.  Our classroom will be a place where learning is
fun, interactive, exciting and sustainable.  Together, you and I will work as a team to make this a successful year for your child.

This is my 16th year teaching in Douglas County and my 8th year here at Sage Canyon.  I am so happy to be teaching First Grade again this year at SGCE.  My family consists of 3 beautiful, grown daughters (Amy, Wendy and Roby), 2 handsome son-in-laws (Michael and Tyler), 2 small dogs, 1 crazy cat, a leopard gecko, a Russian land tortoise and 1 very loud cockatiel.  I love to travel, especially to my hometown (a small barrier island in NJ) and to Texas and Tennessee to visit with my family.  I also like to hike with my dogs, bike, swim (whenever I get the chance), paddle board, skim board, garden and run 5Ks.  I made my 3rd annual paddle board trek from my family home on the island to the lighthouse on the north end of the island during my 3 week trip home this year.  I can't wait to tell the kiddos about all of my many spills and splashes. I look forward to getting to know your children and you better, learning about the things your child is passionate about and the things that you like to do as a family.

I believe that parent and teacher communication is essential to a great year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, concerns or just to check-in throughout the year.  I can be reached via email at, via phone  - the front office number is (720) 433-0100, or a note in your child’s daily folder.  If you prefer a face-to-face conversation, please schedule a time before or after school so that I can give you my full attention.

Thank you for the opportunity to share this exciting First Grade journey  with your child!
