English Language Learners

I am so excited to be at Redstone Elementary another year! By the end of this school year, I will complete my 35th year of teaching: 20 years in Texas and 15 years in Colorado. I have been in Douglas County for 12 years and plan to continue my career here, as long as I can. Most of my experience has been with students of other languages. I myself speak Spanish and love learning how to say hello in Korean, Russian, and any other language my students want to share with me. I attended The University of Texas Pan American for my Bachelor of Science Education Degree, Texas Women's University for my Masters in Administration Degree, and I have an Endorsement in Cultural Linguistic Diversity. I am also one of the Spanish Translator Teachers in the district. Which means, I go to meetings with teachers and parents of English Language Learners whose home language is Spanish, here in the district. I have four wonderful sons and two handsome grandsons. I love doing outdoor activities like camping, hiking, horseback riding, playing tennis, and swimming, to name a few. My favorite pastime is baking and sometimes cooking. I love drinking a cup of coffee often and doing yoga to keep my body going at this age. And my passion is working with students every day!
