PARCC State Assessment Results

posted Aug 22, 2017, 7:01 AM by Olga Rainosek

PARCC results for the 2016/17 school year have been released by the Colorado Department of Education. In the spring students in grades 3-5 took the state assessments. Redstone scored well above state and district averages. We are proud of our students for the achievement demonstrated on these assessments. A parent letter and Individual Student Reports will be mailed to parents by August 31st.

STAR Universal Testing

All 1st-5th grade students will be taking the STAR Reading or STAR Early Literacy and STAR Math assessment during the week of August 21st. The results of this assessment are used to make instructional decisions about your child and set growth goals.

In addition, the STAR Early Literacy and STAR Reading are the assessments Redstone uses to ensure all children graduate having attained the skills needed that prepare them for post-secondary studies or the workforce (READ Act).  It is our mission to provide appropriate interventions for all students reading below grade level.  Based on our data results, we will plan and serve students who were identified and placed on READ plans and students whom have not yet reached grade level proficiency.

School Readiness

Do you have a child in kindergarten? During the first couple months of school, kindergarten teachers will be observing kindergarteners in the areas of literacy, math, social-emotional, language and physical development. TS GOLD is the observational tool teachers will be using to determine next steps for continuous growth of your child. Observations and School Readiness Plans will be shared with you during fall conferences (Senate Bill 08-212, CAP4K). Please reach out to Gail Hollins with any questions (303-387-7306).
