Summer Placement Testing is set for Thursday, July 16th starting at 9:00 sharp!  

This placement testing is open to all students new to Rocky Heights Middle School for the 2015-2016 school year who are interested in Advanced Language Arts for 7th or 8th grade only, or Accelerated Math.  Accelerated Math would include the following:   
  • For 6th grade - Accelerated Math 7 
  • For 7th grade - Accelerated Math 7 or Algebra 
  • For 8th grade - Algebra or Geometry

The camp is geared to introduce the young distance runner or any athlete to the sport of Cross Country. Athletes will learn proper training techniques from the coaching staff, as well as former RCHS Cross Country athletes currently competing at the NCAA DI level.  Athletes will also be introduced to the numerous life-long benefits that running has to offer.

Cross country will be up and RUNNING the first week of middle school school.  Space is limited, so sign up before May 25th to secure your spot.  Go to the RHMS Athletics Website to sign up now! Does your child need something fun and creative to do in July?  Are your child's academic skills needing a jump start before school begins in August?  Then we have just the thing!!!  Register your child for SOAR…a unique, creative, and innovative program offered only at Rocky Heights the last 3 weeks of July.  Your child can attend 1, 2, or 3 sessions a week for a cost of $100 to $175.  Click on the link below and sign up NOWl!!!  Registration is on a first come, first serve basis.

Starting on the first day of school practice will start for 8th grade football, 8th grade girls volleyball and cross country all grades.
Be ready to go practice right after school from 3-4:30pm. Please turn in your updated physical to the front office and register on our website.

RHMS Traffic Plan
With the start of the school year, we are getting back into the routine for a good flow of traffic through the RHMS parking lot both before and after school.  Please review our traffic plan to help us more efficiently move people in and out of the lot.  NOTE** Cars will not be allowed to park in the fire line entering the school parking lot.  You must pull into the lot and not park in the curved fire lane coming into the lot.

Please Register ONLINE Only for your student's Zpass/Bus Pass.  You only need to register if this is your students 1st pass, or if you need a replacement!!!  If you have questions, please contact the DCSD Zpass Applications Specialist @ 303-387-0415.

Trying to work through the struggles of parenting? Wanting to make sure your kids are set up for success? As parents, we have an awesome task and can sometimes feel as though we are novices in an overwhelming mission. So, in order to help you feel encouraged and supported, Parent University is now enrolling parents in classes on the DCSD website! Simply go to and check out some of the course offerings for this semester, which include bullying prevention, cyber-safety, study skills, college prep, school finance and many others. Also, if you have suggestions for classes, you’ll find an area to submit your ideas for the following semester. We welcome your input and participation! These courses are designed to be a resource for parents, driven by parents!

This is for both students and parents to use.   Once you install it on your device, use the district code QKKYJL  Students and parents will then be able to use their Parent Portal login in order to access all of the information you can access from your browser.

If your child will be absent or tardy, please call the attendance line first thing in the morning. Leave your child's first and last name.  Notify us of the day(s) your child will be absent as well as the reason.  If your child is out due to illness, please specify what symptoms your child has. This allows us to monitor illnesses in our school. Please do not Call the Attendance Line and leave a message if you need to take your child out of school early, call the main office @ 303-387-3300.  You can also send your child with a note for an early release.Click HERE for DCSD Attandance Policy.

Parking Lot-  PLEASE drive slowly and use caution when dropping your student(s) off in the mornings in our designated drop off zones.  We have a lot of people  crossing the crosswalk and do not want anyone getting hurt.  Please CLICK HERE to view our  Traffic Plan.

Please drop-off and pick-up your child in the designated area/lane directly in front of the school.  It is dangerous for students to walk between cars or get picked up on Monarch. Thank you for helping us keep your child safe!
