Brian Singleton, Principal Email: Brian.Singleton@dcsdk12.org First and foremost, I am a Colorado Native! I grew up in Pueblo where I attended Centennial High School (1992 5A Football State Champions). I then attended and played football for Arizona State University, then transferred and played for Colorado State University, and eventually graduated from University of Northern Colorado with my teaching degree. I then moved to Alaska where I taught Kindergarten and 4th grade. I earned my Master’s Degree and Principal Certification at University of Alaska Anchorage. I had the opportunity to successfully lead a Title I funded elementary school that included a Duel-Language Spanish Immersion program (6 years). For another 7 years, I had the honor of being the principal of the largest middle school in Alaska and the most diverse in the United States. During my educational career, I have served as an assistant high school football coach and I coached youth football with the Boys and Girls Club for several years. I have two beautiful kids, Malique who is a sophomore and Makiya who is in the 8th grade. I also have a wonderful woman in my life named Allison, who is an educator in Denver. We live in the DCSD community and are enjoying our new life in Colorado. I take great pride in leading the staff at MRMS to ensure the safety of our campus and provide the most effective educational experience possible for each and every student attending our wonderful school. My door is always open, so feel free to stop by, hope to see you soon! Sara Curto, 7th Grade Assistant Principal Email: sara.curto@dcsdk12.org I am thrilled to be joining the MRMS family this year. This is my fifth year in the Douglas County School District (DCSD). My previous work was as the Assistant Director for Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Growth which allowed me to gain a PK-12 perspective of our district and learn about all wonderful schools, kids, and staff in DCSD. Mountain Ridge Middle School is truly an exceptional place to be and I can't wait to serve our students, staff, and community. I began my career as an English, Speech, and Drama teacher in California and Iowa before transitioning to the role of instructional coach at the high school and middle school level. Prior to coming to DCSD, I was an assistant principal at a large high school in Iowa. Personally, my family is invested in the Mountain Vista community with my children attending Heritage Elementary and my husband teaching next door at Vista. We are proud of the educational experiences our schools provide students and families! I am so excited to be a Ram and support our students as they continue to grow. Mark Harmon -8th Grade Assistant Principal Email: mharmon@dcsdk12.org I am so excited to join the Mountain Ridge team as the 8th grade Assistant Principal this year! I am beginning my 15th year in education. I previously worked 14 years in Denver Public Schools as a bilingual elementary and high school teacher and middle school administrator in Southwest Denver. I have lived in Highlands Ranch for 13 years with my wife and soulmate Julie who works as a software engineer. We met during our service in the US Army. We have two wonderful children. Our daughter Alex (28 years old) and our son Gavin (7 years old). My undergraduate degree is from the University of Minnesota. I have a Masters in Bilingual and Multicultural Education from CU Boulder, and earned my administrator’s license from Denver University (DU). I love the work of education and helping to shape the the futures of students we serve by working in partnership with teachers, parents and the community. It takes a village! My ultimate goal is to ensure that we, through our collective efforts, meet every students’ academic, social and emotional needs. In doing so, I believe we give them the foundation they need to attain their dreams and be successful in whatever direction life’s aspirations may take them. I look forward to working with you all in my new capacity at MRMS! Lucas Reeves, Dean of Students / Athletic Director Email: lucas.reeves@dcsdk12.org Welcome to Mountain Ridge! I am so grateful to be able to serve this community, our staff, and most importantly, the students that call this place home. This is my eighth year at MRMS, having previously served as the Choir & Digital Music teacher. I’ve directed many musicals, coached many athletes, directed many choirs and clubs, and it brings me great joy to be involved in all of these still, but in a different capacity as Dean and Athletic Director. My wife teaches middle school math in Jefferson County where my two sons attend school. My oldest is in middle school in 6th grade and his brother is in 3rd grade. When I’m not helping coach their teams, or running them between activities and rehearsals, I love spending down time in the outdoors or in the garage. |
