PBS Program

What is PBS?

Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is an international program supported by the Colorado Department of Education and Douglas County Schools to promote and maximize academic achievement and behavioral competence. It is a school-wide strategy for helping all students achieve important social and learning goals. We know that when good behavior and good teaching come together, our students will excel in their learning. Castle Rock MS is proud to be a part of this exciting initiative.

What are P.R.I.D.E. tickets my student recieves at school?

Students who show exemplary citizenship and character (P.R.I.D.E. expectations) have the chance to earn a P.R.I.D.E. ticket from CRMS staff. All P.R.I.D.E. tickets are submitted for weekly team and school drawings. The students whose names are drawn receive a variety of rewards.

What does P.R.I.D.E. stand for?

  • Positive
  • Respect
  • Involved
  • Dependable
  • Everyone Safe

How can you support PBS at home?

  • When your student earns a P.R.I.D.E. ticket you can celebrate by going bowling, going out for ice cream, playing a board game, having a friend over, extra privileges, etc.
  • Discuss the importance and honor of being recognized for demonstrating important citizenship and character.
  • Reinforce the importance of the P.R.I.D.E. character traits when they are displayed at home
  • If you own a business or are in a position to contribute donations from someone in our community, please help support our rewards for students.  Please contact our Assistant Principal, Matt Barton (mbarton@dcsdk12.org), with any donations or leads you may have.
