Week of Monday, April 5

posted Apr 11, 2021, 11:34 AM by Alison Fisher

This week as we return from break I hope you feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready for the final quarter of the school year! Let's use this opportunity for a fresh start ... to either reset habits/patterns of behavior that need adjusting or to continue the routines that have led to success thus far this school year. This week we will start working on a unit where our primary focus is on understanding linear functions and constant rates of change. We will continue to incorporate old review skills to reinforce understanding of prior content.

Week of Monday, January 4

Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful break and took time to relax/feel rejuvenated for the second half of the school year. We are going to continue our work with proportions throughout this week.

NOTE: We are returning to school in the hybrid model. A few things to clarify:
  • Tuesday Group A students attend in person, Group B students attend virtually.
  • Every day this week is a white day (regular seven-period schedule).
  • If you are not physically in school my expectations is that you are logging into class via a live google meet (access link in google classroom), just as we did during the hybrid schedule before Thanksgiving break.
  • So you have math class every day this week.
ANOTHER NOTE: The second quarter ends on Thursday, January 14 ... eight days left in this quarter. Let's work hard to end the quarter where we need/want to.
  • Monday (1/4): No School - Enjoy the Last Day of Break!
    • Tuesday (1/5): Unit 3 - Proportional Relationships (Graph-Table Connections)
      • Weekly Homework: Worksheet "U3-3 Proportional Relationships" - due Fri 1/8; submit digitally
      • NOTE: Recommended that students check their grade on the "Classwork Thurs 12/17 - Open Notes Project" and if necessary correct & resubmit for credit or complete it for credit.
    • Wednesday (1/6): Unit 3 - Proportional Relationships; Graph Interpretation
      • Weekly Homework: same as Tuesday
    • Thursday (1/7): Unit 3 - Proportions & Similarity (Rectangle Families)
      • Weekly Homework: same as Tuesday
    • Friday (1/8): Unit 3 - Proportions & Similarity
      • Weekly Homework: see Tuesday for work due today; submit in google classroom
