Ruth DeVries

As a resident of Mesa, Arizona for over twenty years, and mother of four, I am currently earning my B.A. degree from Arizona State University’s, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College; I plan to graduate in the spring of 2013. I previously attended Chandler-Gilbert Community College earning my Associates in General Studies and Associate in Arts.  I spent my early years working with an engineering firm in So. Calif. as office support and later began raising my own children and changed my focus from office work to early childhood opportunities.  I began volunteering at my children’s schools and later assisted in a Pre-K classroom for three years.  I have been involved in a children’s club for eight+ years, where I performed as a crew leader and craft instructor. Later I taught Sunday school for three years.  My involvement with children has confirmed my desire to move ahead and attain my degree in Early Childhood Education. I now look forward to working in an occupation that I love. I also enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family.
