Summer

By: Aubree Davis

SUMMER- July, August, Early September. The temperatures can range anywhere between 75 degrees during the night and up to 135 degrees during the day in the southern portion of the Sonoran Desert. In July we see a lot of rain, and almost a second spring appears with the abundant rain. The orange and purple flowers appear during this time of year. Also, during this time of year in the desert there are monsoons and flash floods (click HERE to see a picture of flooding in the Sonoran Desert). The Sonoran Desert can be a beautiful place in the summer, but also dangerous because of heat, flash floods, and the creatures and plants that live here.
