Map of the Sonoran Desert

The northern most portion of the Sonoran desert has mountains, and receives snow in the winter, and early spring. The southern most portion of the Sonoran desert goes almost to the tip of the Baja of California. Because there is a vast elevation difference between the northern mountainous region and the southern beaches, the climate changes greatly thus influencing the variety of weather, crawlers, vegetation, and wildlife across the desert.
