INTRODUCTION: Greetings everyone! I am here to tell you a little bit about my self, the Palo Verde Tree! I am a tree that has yellow flowers all over me and live in the Sonoran Desert. If you look through this page you will be able to learn all about me.

WHO AM I?  Hello, I am a Palo Verde Tree. I am a type of tree. I usually have yellow flowers all over me that fall onto the ground. I also have green bark on me.

WHERE DO I LIVE? I live in the Sonoran Desert and I am Arizona's state tree.  I can be found in Arizona and California and can be found in elevations up to 4,000 ft. These are the places where I am best suited to live.

WHAT DO I EAT? I photosynthesize through my green bark. When I photosynthesize this means that I am getting energy from the sunlight.  This is how I get sunlight so that I can grow. This is how I am able to get grow and get big so that I can later make more trees.

WHAT DO I LOOK LIKE? I can reach the height of about 40 feet and have a diameter of 1.5-2 feet. I have a great number of yellow flowers all over me when I am in bloom. I am usually in bloom around the spring time.

HOW DO I REPRODUCE? My flowers bloom for about two weeks in the spring. I am pollinated by around 20 different types of bees. My seeds are eaten by javelins, beetles, and rock squirrels. My seeds must be cut open by the weather and or flood in order to grow new trees. Once this happens my speeds will be spread all around which will allow me to grow in all new places.

FUN FACTS ABOUT ME?  My name, Palo Verde, is Spanish for "green pole" or "green stick". My life span is around 100 years but I can sometimes live to be up to 400 years old!
