Graduation Requirement
Volunteer Hours
In supporting the AlWood MHS Vision and Mission Statements, the Handbook Committee added volunteer hours as a graduation requirement. Students will earn a total of 25 service hours over their 4 years at AHS. Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors will work 5 volunteer hours each year. Seniors will work 10 hours. Teachers and students started recording hours this week. Mrs. Curry, Mrs. Steider, Mrs. Molek, and Ms. Garrett are helping students keep track of their hours.
Hours can be recorded any time that a student is helping the school or community with a need that is not paid. Some examples may include:
working concession stands
working at community events
participating in clubs - working events
working at an Election Polling Site
