OVERVIEW OF CONTEST:
Neighborhood Expressions is a bi-annual event that invites young artists in PreK-12 grade in the Westwood Regional School District to connect with the community through their artistic talents. Students will have the opportunity to create art based on the inspirations of their hometown. The purpose of the contest is to create a sense of unity and pride within Westwood and Township of Washington.
PROMPT:
Create a piece of artwork that reflects on your neighborhood/community.
Here are some questions you can think about:
What do you love about your community?
What are your favorite things to do in town?
What are your favorite places to go in Westwood or Township of Washington?
What do you notice about your community that others might not see?
RULES:
Work must be COMPLETELY ORIGINAL! Work copied from any outside source will not be accepted. This includes AI generated art, cartoon characters, and fan art. Submitted work should be created by the participating student (NOT a parent/guardian).
GUIDELINES:
MEDIUM: Any 2 or 3 dimensional medium (i.e. paint, photography, pencil, collage, digital drawing*, sculpture, clay)
SUGGESTED IMAGE SIZE*: 8" x 10" , 9” x 12”, 11” x 14” (portrait or landscape)
SUBMIT ART TO: The art teacher in your school with the completed submission form
*If you are submitting digital artwork (e.g. photography, graphic design, digital drawing) you must talk to your art teacher and make sure your artwork is around 3,300px X 5,100px.
AWARDS: Winners will be chosen and prizes/certificates will be awarded.
