I am a developmental psychologist interested in how early emerging cognitive and affective mechanisms that initially help us learn about the social world later hinders us from creating a more equitable society.

I investigate the development of social biases starting from infancy. I am interested in how racial and linguistic diversity in neighborhood, community, and cultural contexts shape social group conception in racial majority and minority children. I am also interested in how children learn about societal inequalities and how to foster political activism.

I am currently an assistant professor in Psychology at University of California Santa Cruz.

I will NOT be accepting PhD students for Fall 2024.
