Chemistry 2017-2018

Ms. Liza Enrich

Chemistry I and Advanced Placement Chemistry are year-long courses offered by Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter High School.

The goal of chemistry is to study the most basic elements out of which all substances are composed and how substances are transformed into new substances. Chemistry I is an introduction to the wonders of our universe from a chemical and experimental perspective.

In AP Chemistry, students will work to prepare for the Advanced Placement Chemistry exam, which assess student understanding of the major concepts of chemistry and the ability to apply these principles to solve specific problems. This course is only offered to students who have passed Chemistry I.

All chemistry students will be asked to read, write, think, question, analyze, and critique every day as we use experiments, texts and real world issues as lenses through which we develop a thorough understanding of chemical phenomena.
