About

Abhijeet Chandra works in behavioral finance and accounting. He is currently Assistant Professor in Finance and Accounting area at Vinod Gupta School of Management of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (West Bengal, India).

Earlier between July 2012 and October 2014, he was Post-doctoral Fellow (Postdoc) in behavioral finance working with Prof. M. Thenmozhi at Department of Management Studies of Indian Institute of Technology Madras at Chennai, India.

In November 2011, he received Ph.D. on Behavioral Finance from Department of Commerce & Business Studies of Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), New Delhi, India working with his advisor Prof. Ravinder Kumar.

From July 2010 - June 2012, he was working as Academic Associate in Finance and Control Area at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Karnataka.

His major research interests are in financial economics (behavioral finance, asset pricing, economics of derivatives) and individual decision making under risk and uncertainty (prospect theory, risk preferences, irrationality). he works on both theoretical and empirical aspects of finance and is currently also involved in experimental work.

Prior to and during the doctoral studies, he completed his degrees in Accounting, Commerce, and Business Management with major in Finance. His undergraduate degree in Commerce with Honors in Accounting is from Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga, Bihar, India.
