Computer Information Systems is about connecting. Connecting people with people, places, and things through the use of modern technology. As a  student at Treasure Valley Community College, I am learning the basics of various areas of end-user support such as Hardware installation and repair, software, troubleshooting, network and security and very basic programming along with essential customer service skills. These skills are highly valued in the rapidly growing Industry of technology. Throughout my education I will be learing the necessary skills to pass various standardized tests to recieve certifications in all areas of technical support. Can you imagine the world without technology? Neither can I.

My name is Victoria Harp and I am a student at TVCC. I chose CIS because for as long as I can remember, I have had a love for technology, more specifically, Computers. My very first computer was a TRS80....(gosh I'm old)

I remember thinking that it just couldn't get any better then that, boy was I wrong! My hobby has always been finding and/or buying various computer parts and building systems, I find no greater joy than being able to take some useless random junk and turning it into something of value. Thanks to my education I will be able to finally do what I love the Most!

I live in Caldwell, Idaho with my future husband and best friend Enrique and our wonderful cat Samhain.

One day I would like to have my own computer repair shop where I can fix computers, build custom systems, and run an internet cafe combined with CCG & RPG gaming like Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, and World of Warcraft (NO YUGIOH or POKEMON ALLOWED). Yes, I am an authentic nerd!!! But this dream is in the far off future. For now it's baby steps my friend and honestly I would be happy working anywhere as long as it involves being anywhere near a computer :)
