I am currently a Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Pretoria, South Africa. I completed my Ph.D. in May 2005 from the Department of Economics, University of Connecticut, USA. I then joined the Department of Economics, University of Pretoria, as a Senior Lecturer in August 2005.

I obtained my B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Economics from the R.K.M.R College, Narendrapur, India, and M.Sc. degree in Economics from the University of Calcutta, India.

My academic interests are mainly Monetary Theory and Policy, and Time Series Econometrics.
