Sand Mountain
1/13/2009
Run 1:
John Minier and I skinned up the east ridge of 9005, then descended to the saddle east of Sand Mountain, gained the south ridge and followed it to the summit in white out conditions to its summit. We skied the south ridge to treeline skiing wind-affected snow, then dropped south off the ridge finding perfectly consistent powder.
Elevation: ~2300’
Run 2:
We skinned back up to 9005 and skied out to the car.
Elevation: ~800’
Total Elevation: ~3500’
Distance: ~12 miles
Time: ~6.5 h
