Training


The ICTP offers training plans ranging from introductory workshops on CBTp to comprehensive 7-month training.  The training programs are offered in collaboration with the International Society for the Psychological Treatments of Schizophrenia and Other Psychoses (ISPS)The ICTP offers the following training plans:

        •    Training for individuals - in New York City
                   4 consecutive days of didactic training, followed by 30 hours of weekly phone
              supervision.

         Training for institutions - in the New York City vicinity
               8 weeks of didactic training at the institution, followed by 30 hours of weekly 
               phone supervision. A list of institutions previously trained is available here

          Training for institutions - National and International
                   This training may be adapted to individual institutions' needs and schedule, but 
               typically involve 4 days of didactic training offered consecutively or over 2 visits
               to the institution, followed by 30 hours of weekly phone supervision. A list of 
               institutions previously trained is available here

        •    Introductory Lectures / Grand Rounds

                   A 1.5-3 hour introductory workshop on CBTp (for either institution wide or
               residency training)

All trainees receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training.



CBTp Training for Individuals

This workshop consists of 4 consecutive full days of didactic training, followed by 30 hours of weekly phone supervision.

Supervision is scheduled upon completion of training.

Application Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
    •  Hold one of the following degrees:
            PhD or PsyD (clinical or counseling psychology), MD (in psychiatry), MSW, LCSW.
    •  Be a licensed mental health professional. 
    •  Have familiarity with CBT theory and principles. 
    •  Have access to clients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders.     

Applicants are accepted on a rolling first-come, first-serve basis until the workshop is full.

Tuition

The training fee for individuals is $3,500 per person. ISPS members receive a 15% discount ($2,975 + $100 for ISPS yearly membership). Tuition is payable through check or PayPal.
