SoundClick is not the most elegant of sites, and it's ad-heavy. SC is where I began uploading poetry readings in 2004 - it's since become my 'storage' site. One year I sold some recordings via their system, but SC didn't send the, albiet tiny, funds onto me, so since then I have made my tracks 'stream only.' 

    Jamendo is a far superior site, but unlike SoundClick they don't allow revisions to be uploaded to the same url - which makes it hard for works-in-progress. The first 10 or 11 tracks at SoundClick will become an album on Jamendo when they're finished, and then you may download an .mp3 version for free, or a higher quality one for a small cost (there are also licensing fees for streamed music to cafes and bars, and one-time royalty payments for other media productions).
