Bulldog Breakaway Race #4 was a record breaker. Not only did we have the most finishers for a twilight race, we had some 5K records set tonight for different age groups. Our overall winner for the 3rd race in a row was Michael Wegner of Charleston, SC with a time of 16:30. Our runner-up was Evan Novakowski of Charleston, SC with a time of 16:58. Ashton Kirkpatrick was 3rd with a time of 18:12. Our overall female winner was Jessa Wigington of Columbia, SC with a new overall female 5k record time of 19:06. We at Bulldog Breakaway Racing are doing everything we can to try to host our summer twilight series according to the Governor's executive order during this pandemic. We are closely working with The Citadel and The City of Charleston and monitoring the situation from Covid-19. We plan to continue to heed direction from state and local authorities. Our number one priority is to put on a safe and enjoyable event that will not put any runners, staff, or bystanders at risk. That being said, we will move the June 4 date to July 2. We will make a decision about the June 18 date at the end of this week. We feel confident that we can adhere to specific guidelines and still put on a fun event. We are super excited to announce our dates for the Bulldog Breakaway 2020 Twilight Series. The first race will be on May, follwed by May 21, then June 4, with the final race being on June 18. We hope everyone had a great time today at the Bulldog Breakaway New Year's 5K. We had a great turnout and our overall winner was Alan Squyres of Lancaster, CA with a time of 10:04. Our overall female winner was Ella Bruks with a time of 26:08. Our junior division winner was Brayden Obrecht with a time of 26:12. Our Master's division winner was Chuck Dunne of Charleston with a time of 22:47. Our Grandmaster's division winner was Kevin Short with a time of Ladson, SC with a time of 25:20.

Our overall female winner was Jasmine Smith of Waxhaw, NC with a time of 22:06. Our junior division winner was Trey Hunt of Hollywood with a time of 18:24. We had a wonderful race today with a record number of finishers. The weather cooperated and a good time was had by all. Our overall winner of the inaugural Dog Days of Summer 5K was Kristian Stocksdale of Sugarcreek, OH with a time of 18:26. Our overall female winner was Suzanne Bradshaw of Charleston with a time of 22:28. Our junior division winner was Ryan Rousseau of Charleston, SC with a time of 23:19. We had a great turnout tonight for the Bulldog Breakaway Twilight Series #4. It was one of the hottest races we have ever hosted but this group gave it their all and finished before the storm came. It was an awesome turnout for our first race of the 2019 Twilight Series. Heath Goshorn of Alliance, OH won the event with a time of 19:35. Our first female was Connor McMahon of Charleston with a time of 21:57. Our junior division champ and overall runner-up was Trey Hunt of Hollywood, SC with a time of 21:33! It was a very hot and humid evening but over 20 die hard runners and a dog particpated in tonight's race. Our overall winner was Sam Sharnas (17) of Saugatuck, MI with a time of 18:20. David Hocking of Charleston was 2nd overall with a time of 19:34 after winning the three previous races. Our overall female winner was Connor McMahon (15) with a time of 22:17. This marks the 2nd week in a row she was the female champion. Our master's division winner was Mike Sharnas of Saugatuck, MI with a time of 20:59. It is that time of year again!! We are so excited to have our first Twilight Race of the summer this Thursday on The Citadel's Campus. We will begin promptly at 6:30pm and will have packet pickup and late registration at 5:45pm. Please bring your friends and let's have a great 5K. A new course record was set tonight by local standout runner and Assistant College of Charleston Coach Brian Johnson with a time of 15:58.12. We had great weather and a decent turnout for the second race of the series. We will be back on the track on June 9 for Bulldog Breakaway #3. We hope to see everyone again and are looking forward to another great night of road racing. We want to thank everyone for participating.
