Benefits of Low Impact Aquafitness

Hydrotherapy will help you become more flexible and improve balance whilst building strength. The resistance that the water provides helps out in this area by keeping you buoyant and not putting stress on the body whilst working out.

People of all ages and levels of fitness can receive benefits from water exercise.  Low impact Hydrotherapy is wonderful for mature people who do not want to do or cannot do strenuous/impact exercise. If you want to improve your fitness whilst enjoying the social environment, then low impact Aquafitness may be what you are searching for.

Benefits of Water Exercises

Many studies have shown that exerising in water provides a total body workout that is just as effective and safer than land based exercise. Because the buoyancy of water removes 90 percent of body weight, stress to muscles and joints is alleviated.

More Effective in the Water?

Many studies prove that some of the health benefits of water exercise may be even greater than standard exercises. Aquafitness targets every muscle in the body. Water has 12 times the resistance capacity of air and to some degree targets every muscle with every movement.

Beginners

You don't have to be a swimmer to do Aquafitness.  You can start anytime, it doesn't matter how long it has been since you exercised, whether you are pre or post-op.  You do not have to be water confident, the students and instructor are in the water with you giving one on one attention.

Health Problems

For those with issues such as arthritis, osteoporosis, heart problems and those recovering from injury or surgery, aquatic exercise provides a cushioning effect for the body, making exercise easier to perform whilst providing substantial aerobic and strength training benefits.
