BLACK HISTORY MUSEUM

2021: a year of triumph

what is the black history museum all about?

OUR GOAL WAS TO CREATE A PLATFORM WHERE OUR STUDENTS COULD SHOWCASE THEIR PASSIONS, THOUGHTS, AND CREATIONS AS A TRIBUTE TO BLACK HISTORY. TRULY, THIS IS A CELEBRATION OF A VIBRANT HISTORY. OUR STUDENTS HAVE WORKED HARD TO DEMONSTRATE THEIR KNOWLEDGE, AND THEY INVITE YOU TO EXPLORE. FACULTY, STAFF, FELLOW STUDENTS, AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE ARE ENCOURAGED TO VISIT THE MUSEUM. WE HOPE YOU LEARN AND GROW IN THIS YEAR OF TRIUMPH.

SOJOURNER TRUTH

what will i find in the black history museum?

STUDENTS CREATED A DIVERSE COLLECTION OF EXHIBITS: RESEARCH, ART, LITERATURE, MUSIC, AND OTHERS FOR YOU TO EXPLORE! THE BEST PART ABOUT THE MUSEUM IS THAT EVERY SINGLE THING YOU SEE WAS CREATED BY ONE OF OUR STUDENTS. WE HAVE SOME AMAZINGLY TALENTED STUDENTS AT CHS, AND THEIR DEVOTION AND APPRECIATION FOR BLACK HISTORY PROVES IT. CHECK OUT THE TABS AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE AND PREPARE TO BE AMAZED AT WHAT CONWAY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS CREATED!

BLACK IDEAS.

OUR STUDENTS DEBATE CRITICAL TOPICS IN AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY AND SHARE THOUGHTFUL OPINIONS ABOUT CURRENT ISSUES.

BLACK INSPIRATION.

STUDENTS HAVE WORKED ON THEIR EXHIBITS FOR THE MUSEUM THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND ARE EXCITED TO SHARE WITH THE WORLD.

BLACK VALUE.

OUR STUDENTS ARE OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE FUTURE: "I'M GLAD WE'RE CALLING 2021 A YEAR OF TRIUMPH. WE NEED ONE, AND WE'VE EARNED IT!"

a GIFT TO THE FUTURE.

Dear Visitors:

Thank you so much for stopping by the Conway High School Black History Museum. I don't know that I've ever witnessed students work so passionately before. I gave them a pretty big task in creating an entirely virtual experience, but here we are. Even with everything going on in the world, they are always willing to rise to a challenge and meet it head on.

Our hope is that everyone who "walks through these doors," virtual though they might be, gets something out of it. We should be constantly willing to reflect and think about who we are in society; young people have a way of holding up a mirror to us. If we see ourselves, see them, and validate their humanity. . . I think it might just be the greatest triumph of all.

Thank you again for your support.
